About the Auto Club Speedway
Opened in 1997, Auto Club Speedway boasts the fastest cars, greatest speeds and most invigorating thrills around. Nothing matches the excitement of sitting in one of the 92,000 grandstand seats or camping out in one of the 1,800 infield reserved RV spaces to watch the world's fastest autos race. With two NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races, the Auto Club 500 in February and the Pepsi Max 400 in October, the speedway's schedule is jammed packed with racing excitement. NASCAR, AMA Superbikes and Historic Sports Cars compete at the speedway annually, in addition to numerous racing schools and NHRA drag racing on the quarter-mile dragstrip called Auto Club Dragway.
Formerly the site of a Kaiser Steel mill, the facility is owned and operated by International Speedway Corporation, the leading promoter of motorsports events throughout the country. It offers every imaginable amenity for the race fan, including luxury suites, concession buildings and 32,000 paved parking spaces.

•Location and parking:
Rising from the site of an old Kaiser Steel mill, the 568-acre Speedway venue is in Fontana near I-10 and I-15, about 50 miles east of Los Angeles. It is accessed easily from the San Bernardino (10) Freeway via the Cherry or Etiwanda Avenue exits, or from the Ontario (15) Freeway via Fourth Street east.

•Technical information:
The main track oval is two miles in circumference and has 14-degree banking in the turns. There is a dizzying array of subsidiary courses, including an interior test circuit of 1.45 miles (13 turns), an auto racing course of 2.8 miles (21 turns), a motorcycle racing course of 2.36 miles (also 21 turns) and a go-kart track of 0.624 miles (14 turns). In Lot 1 is the quarter-mile California Dragway for drag racing competitions.
Support facilities include three garages with 100 spaces and a 2,200- foot pit road with 44 stop areas.
Spectator amenities start with 32,000 paved parking spaces. There are two main ticket buildings, each with multiple windows, eight first-aid buildings, 11 merchandise buildings, 13 concession buildings and 60 restrooms.
Seating includes 36,030 in the upper grandstand; 42,490 in the lower grandstand; 12,530 in the Auto Club Speedway Club and 1,050 designated seats for wheelchairs, totaling 92,100. Of course, there is additional room on the infield, bringing the site's capacity to well over 100,000. There are 63 Pit Lane suites and 28 skyboxes.
Communications and information infrastructure includes the 146-foot, four-sided scoring pylon, 13 electronic message centers and six infield sign centers.
A state-of-the-art lighting system allows for night racing on the 2-mile, D-shaped oval. There are 127 exterior light poles, 390 interior light poles, 1,601 total luminaries and 3 million watts of power per hour giving off 300 million lumens of light.
