About Drake Stadium
One of the famed track and field facilities in the world, Drake Stadium has been the site of numerous world records and some of the most stirring track and field competitions ever held. The thrilling dual meets between UCLA and USC in 1971 (a 75-70 USC upset) and 1975 (a 75-70 UCLA recognized as one of the greatest moments in Los Angeles sports history) are both considered classics in the stadium's history.
The stadium seats 11,142 but 15,069 crammed in for the 1975 UCLA-USC dual. It has also been the site of the 1991 U.S. Olympic Festival track and field competition, the 1970, 1977, 1988 and 1996 Pac-10 track championships, the 1977 AIAW national track & field championships and the 1974, 1976, 1977 and 1978 U.S. national track & field championships. It is also the site of UCLA's annual commencement exercises.
It was dedicated in 1973 for Elvin C. "Ducky" Drake, former UCLA track & field coach and long-time Bruin trainer who served the university for more than 60 years until his death in 1988.
A major renovation in 1999 created a regular soccer field inside the track oval, which has been named for UCLA alumnus and film producer Frank Marshall. UCLA's soccer teams now play their home matches in the stadium, complete with new lighting for night games.

The track is a 400 meter, nine-lane surface with 36-degree radius turns. The natural-grass infield accommodates a 75 by 120-yard soccer field. The stadium itself accommodates 11,142 on aluminum bench seats with backs.
•Location and parking:
The stadium is located at the north end of the UCLA campus, accessible from Sunset Boulevard on the north (Sunset off-ramp from the San Diego (405) Freeway) or Westwood Boulevard from the south (Wilshire off-ramp from the 405).
•Management:

•Technical information:
The track is a Martin Surfacing polyurethane surface of nine lanes. There are complete field-event facilities. The soccer field is 70 yards by 120 yards of natural grass. There are lights for night soccer games.
The aluminum bleacher seats will accommodate 11,142 on a reserved basis and up to 15,000 on a general admission basis. There are no locker rooms on-site (Pauley Pavilion is adjacent), but there are weight room facilities on the concourse level and on the field level.
Spectator amenities include a full-service ticket office at the stadium entrance, a large concession facility, a wide concourse and a full-service press box. There is ample parking in nearby university lots. There is a large matrix scoreboard on the south end of the stadium, dedicated in 2000.
