The opening of the Los Angeles Football Club's shiny new home is approaching as the team will take on Seattle April 29 at 6 pm in the first-ever match at the spectacular $350-million stadium.

Banc of California Stadium, the newest of 16 soccer-specific venues in MLS, rose from the ruins of the Sports Arena in downtown Los Angeles, right next door to the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.

The privately financed 22,000-seat stadium, the most expensive in MLS history, is the first open-air professional sports venue built in the city since Dodger Stadium in 1962.

LAFC has already played 6 road games, owning a 3-3 record.
