Snow Foundation Fundraiser on August 11
The Snow Foundation is holding its annual fundraiser benefitting the fight against Wolfram Syndrome in Santa Monica on Saturday, August 11.
The event aims to increase awareness of this dreaded disease and to raise money to help find a cure.
The foundation is run by Stephanie Snow Gebel and JT Snow, the children of former L.A. Rams great Jack Snow.
The event is being held at:
The Corner Restaurant
2450 Colorado Avenue
Santa Monica, CA 90404
The hours are from 7-10pm.
Wolfram Syndrome is a rare recessive genetic disease that afflicts about 1 in 500,000 people, with only about 30,000 patients worldwide.
Symptoms in young children develop insulin-dependent diabetes, then blindness, hearing loss and other neurologic problems such as loss of balance, seizures and irregular breathing.
According to the Snow Foundation, finding a cure for Wolfram Syndrome may open doors to treating diabetes, Parkinsonâs and Alzheimerâs diseases.
