About KELLOGG GYMNASIUM
The gymnasium at Cal Poly Pomona is named in honor of W.K. Kellogg, the creator of the Kellogg's breakfast cereal empire. He bought thousands of acres in the Pomona Valley in 1925 for his Arabian Horse Ranch, then donated 1,000 acres to the State of California in 1949 for the express purpose of allowing the development of what is now Cal Poly Pomona.
Opened in 1956, the campus became a separate college from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1966 and the Kellogg Gymnasium was opened a year later. Built for $3 million, it is the primary home of the powerful Bronco (NCAA Division II) basketball and volleyball teams.
A second, smaller arena sits adjacent to Kellogg, the Darlene May Gymnasium. Named in honor of the winningest coach in NCAA Division II basketball history, it opened in 1996 and seats 500.

•Location and parking:
The arena is located on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, bounded by University Drive to the west, Eucalyptus Lane to the north, Kellogg Drive on the east side and the university's athletic fields on the southern end. The easiest access to the facility is from the Kellogg Drive south exit off the San Bernardino (10) Freeway.
•Management:

•Technical information:
The floor area is all hardwood and offers multiple courts when not set for spectators. All seats are retractable and load-in is accomplished through side doors. Lighting for the court is of broadcast quality.
There are four locker rooms: three for team use and one additional, smaller room for use by officials. There are no meeting rooms inside the gym, but there are multiple classrooms in adjacent building which could be used for administrative support or hospitality.
Spectator amenities include a box office with two ticket windows, a permanent concession stand, two wall-mounted scoreboards and one programmable message board. Ample parking in university-operated lots are located close to the gym.
