About LONG BEACH ARENA
One of the well-known arenas in the Los Angeles area, the Long Beach Arena was opened in 1962 and has seen the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center grow up around it. It is home to the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the East Coast Hockey League and was the home court of the Long Beach State basketball team for many seasons prior to the opening of the Pyramid of Long Beach in 1994.
Offering excellent infrastructure and flexibility thanks to the Convention Center around it, the Arena hosted the 1984 Olympic Games volleyball competition to sell-out crowds. The venue is well-known for the giant images of whales and other sealife which surround the building in a mural called "Planet Ocean" created by the noted artist Wyland.

•The basics:
The arena seating includes 8,760 fixed upper-level seats and a flexible floor plan which can accommodate up to almost 7,000 additional seats in either chairs or telescoping bleachers. Capacities range from approximately 11,200 for ice hockey to about 13,609 for basketball.
•Location and parking:
The Long Beach Arena is located within the Convention Center complex at 300 East Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach. The site is accessible from the Long Beach (710) Freeway via the downtown exit and then a right turn toward the ocean on Pine Avenue. Patrons can also use the Shoreline Drive exit off the 710 Freeway and enter the facility at Linden Avenue.
•Management:

•Technical information:
The floor area comprises 46,000 square feet in a 200 by 390-foot concrete space. There is a 75-foot ceiling. There is an additional 19,000 square feet in the Arena lobby under a 40-foot lobby ceiling. Loading is accommodated through a large ramp at the back of the building with a 15 by 14-foot doorway.
The Arena offers two large team rooms and there are hundreds of thousands of square feet of meeting space in the adjacent Convention Center for administrative or hospitality use.
Spectator amenities include more than 4,000 parking spaces on-site, a complete ticket office at the entrance and eight permanent concession stands. There is a four-sided scoreboard over the center-court area.
