About Monarch Stadium

Home of the Monarchs football team, the field opened in 1951 after the opening of L.A. Valley College in 1949. It offers a standard football and soccer configuration, plus a 10-lane track.

The basics:
Monarch Stadium has seating for 6,000 with stands for 3,500 on the north side and 2,500 on the south side. The synthetic surface football field is surrounded by a 10-lane Mondo all-weather track.

Location and parking:
Valley College is located near the intersection of Burbank Boulevard and Coldwater Canyon Boulevard in North Hollywood. It is a mile north of the Ventura (101) Freeway; use the Coldwater Canyon exit. Alternatively, it is a mile west of the Hollywood (170) Freeway; use the Burbank Boulevard exit.

Management:
The facility is managed by the college. Inquiries concerning use of the facility should be directed to athletic director Chuck Ferrero at (818) 947-2508.

Technical information:
The 6,000 seats in Monarch Stadium are all aluminum and the field is well lit for night play with six towers and a metal-halide lighting system.

There are on-site locker rooms for the Monarchs, for the visiting team and for officials. There is a press box atop the north grandstand with room for 20.

Spectator amenities include adjacent parking for 1,000 vehicles, two ticket booths with a total of 10 windows, two permanent concession stands and an electronic scoreboard at the east end.
