About PAULEY PAVILION
After playing home games all over Los Angeles in venues such as Venice High School, the Pan-Pacific Auditorium, the UCLA Men's Gym and the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, UCLA opened its own state-of-the-art arena on June 11, 1965: the Edwin W. Pauley Pavilion. Named for the University of California Regent and founder and president of Pauley Oil Corporation who was the largest single contributor to the facility, the campus arena was built for $5 million and has been the site of many thrilling Bruin athletic events, including multiple national championship teams in basketball, gymnastics and volleyball. Pauley Pavilion has also been the site for special events including the 1984 Olympic Gymnastics competition, the Presidential Debate between George H.W. Bush and Michael Dukakis in 1988, the 1992 MTV Video Awards and the 1991 U.S. Olympic Festival basketball and gymnastics competitions. On Dec. 20, 2003, the floor in Pauley Pavilion was dedicated “Nell and John Wooden Court” after the legendary basketball coach and his late wife.

•Location and parking:
Pauley Pavilion is in the middle of the UCLA campus, located in Westwood. It is accessed from the San Diego Freeway (405) via the Sunset Boulevard exit (enter from the north into Lot 4 or 7) or from the Wilshire Boulevard exit via Westwood Boulevard north into the campus (use Lot 6 or 8).

•Technical information:
The floor area comprises 28,000 square feet (125 by 225 feet) of hardwood flooring. Seating was upgraded in 1995 and a retractable system (2,482 seats) is used for basketball games and similar events.
Pauley Pavilion currently has three large locker rooms plus a smaller locker room for officials and three meeting rooms on-site.
Complete concession facilities on the floor and concourse levels are available, along with restroom facilities for men and women on both levels. Additional areas for fan support or food service are available along the walkway on the outside the Pavilion. A first aid station is included in the Pavilion and UCLA's sports medicine facilities are located adjacent to the Pavilion. A five-window ticket sales or pick- up facility is located inside the Pavilion and the UCLA Central Ticket Office is located adjacent to the venue. Extensive indoor and/or outdoor hospitality or meeting spaces adjacent to the Pavilion can also be arranged at the James West Alumni Center.
Lighting is available at acceptable levels for television and Pauley Pavilion is equipped with an excellent sound system for interior and exterior public address. A full-service scoreboard with video and matrix-board capabilities is installed over the center-court area.
