About the SANTA MONICA CIVIC AUDITORIUM
Highly versatile and once the site of the Academy Awards, the Santa Monica Civic is one Southern California's most familiar sites for exhibits and trade shows. Designed by noted architect Welton Becket in 1958, it has also been the site of sporting events on occasion and offers a versatile layout which makes it an intriguing site for stage-set sports just as weightlifting, fencing and other one-on-one match-up sports.

The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium can be configured to seat 3,000 in a performance format in front of a large stage, or cleared to provide a 27,000 sq.ft. exhibition space. A hydraulic lift raises the stage to performance height, or it can be lowered to extend the exhibit floor.
•Location and parking:
The Civic is located at the corner of Pico Boulevard and Main Street in Santa Monica. It can be accessed by taking the 4th Street exit off of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway and continuing a half-mile south.

•Technical information:
The concrete floor area comprises four different areas, which can be combined to offer a 27,000 sq.ft. exhibit space. The main portion of the hall is 82 by 143 feet with a 35-foot ceiling; the stage is 39 feet deep by 115 feet wide, with a 70-foot ceiling; the lobby is 43 feet deep by 115 feet long and the East Wing measures 60 by 70 feet, with a 10-foot ceiling. There is an ample loading dock area with three doors, each 12 feet high by 10 feet wide.
There are 12 dressing rooms, provided primarily for stage performers and there is a conference room on-site for administrative use.
Spectator amenities include 1,000 parking spaces in close-by lots and plenty of street spaces and auxiliary lots close by. The box office has two windows and there are permanent concession stands. There is no scoreboard.
